Back in the year 2000 DVS Records has seen daylight. The idea behind the label was to give talented, original bands a chance in the though world of music. With realistic goals the first release came out in Oktober 2000, the debut album from Norwegian band Sonic Debris. The reactions where really positive, also after our second release, the self-titled debutCD by Canadian band Into Eternity.

With our third release, "Field Of Names" from the German artork band Alias Eye, it was clear that DVS Records concentrates on quality releases, not quantity. It was also quite obvious that DVS Records is not too afraid to try something new, all first 3 releases were very different from each other, from progressive mainstream to progressive death metal to progressive artrock. But we did get a lot of compliments from the press for the originality of our bands, so we were very satisfied with the first year we were in business.

With our 4th (Into Eternity - "Dead Or Dreaming") and 5th (Wolverine - "The Window Puprose") release we made the next step, a few new distribution deals and the first license deals were a fact! Again the press was very positive about our releases, the result is that both Into Eternity and Wolverine signed to a bigger label for their next albums. Into Eternity signed to Century Media and Wolverine to Elitist / Earache Records. We helped the bands out with the deals because we knew that this could happen, sad for us but very good for the bands, and that was more important for us.

In summer of 2002 we released our 6th album, the second album from Ashes To Ashes of Norway ("Cardinal VII"), and again we reached a few new deals. The reactions were once again very positive and once more we showed the diversity of the label, this time we had a release that can be categorized as progressive doom / gothic, or Gregorian Metal as we call it.

For a lot of people was our 7th release, "Primal Power Addiction" by Heaven's Cry, the culmulation of DVS Records so far, the reactions were extremely positive, even the major magazines give this album very good rates. After this album we released "Ripples In Time" by Danish band Chrome Shift and later on the excellent album by the Dutch band Silent Edge, entitled "The Eyes Of The Shadow". At the end of 2003 we released the second album of the German art-rock band Alias Eye, another pleasent surprise in the music business. This means that in 3 years and a half we have released 10 albums by young talented bands, all of a very high level.

After the good start the business became more and more difficult. Several small record labels have quit, we are still in business, simply because we believe in what we are doing. With another excellent release, "Element V" by the Australian band VOYAGER, we again proved to have good ears for talent. This band is extremely unique, they already created their own original sound with this debutCD. The band mixes a lot of different metal styles into their own unique sound, with even some influences from dance music. The album was also our first release licensed to Japan, together with the debut album of Silent Edge ("The Eyes Of The Shadow").

In the beginning of 2005 we followed with our 12th release, the debut album of the Italian band DYNAMIC LIGHTS, entitled "Shape". Not the easiest album to listen to, it will take you a couple of times before you really get into their music, but once you have discovered the brilliance of the album you can't stop listening. Luckily most of the media people say the same, the album, receives excellent reviews worlwide. At the end of 2005 we continued with another high-quality album, "Unspoken Words" by the Dutch band The Aurora Project. With this release and the upcoming one by Italian band Chaoswave, we changed our distribution network completely. As a result our albums must be available in most of the stores now in Europe, especially in Germany and France we hope to get the attention we need.

Right now, January 2006, we are working on the promotion of our next release, the debut album "The White Noise Within" by the Italian band Chaoswave. This is probably the most important release for us we have ever had, some of our distributors are very excited about this release. And with the new distribution network we definitely hope to reach a new level within the music business. With all this in mind we are also working in the background on some new releases for 2006. Some of them will be new albums by bands we are already working with, and we probably will come up with 1 or 2 new bands, top quality, as always.
